Alphonse Bertillon - Things Learned while reading "The Hound of the Baskervilles" - Sherlock Holmes

" "Indeed, sir! May I inquire who has the honour to be the first?" asked Holmes with some asperity.
"To the man of precisely scientific mind the work of Monsieur Bertillon must always appeal strongly." "

Alphonse Bertillon was a researcher who created anthropometry, an identification system based on physical measurements. He used special instruments to measure head, ears, feet, fingers, and so on. Like fingerprints, there are no tow sets of measurements exactly alike.
